Great when combined with the right products

The product undoubtedly has several benefits that made it stand out to me. It also, however, came with some caveats that have made using it more challenging.

The best feature of this sunscreen is definitely the finish. It dries down very quickly, leaves the face with somewhat of a glow/shine which is not at all sticky. I really enjoyed that on the dry dull parts on my face. On my oily zone, I saw no issues. Further, it has a bit of colour to it, which for me means that I can go out the door after adding some concealer under my eyes.

Saying all that, the sunscreen does break up or pile up, if you use more oily or creamy products beforehand. For example, it did not combine well with my Vitamin C Melano CC Intensive Anti-Spot Essence nor my morning mosturiser Cerave Facial Moisturiser SPF25. Once I switched to a gel moisturiser formula to match the sunscreen, however, that has not been an issue.

It remains finicky to use because I have found that my concealers do separate on top of it, if I don't give it 5 minutes to settle. Despite it looking dry, I think it does need some time to warm up to the skin.

YET, saying all of that. I thoroughly enjoy the smell, the texture and the coloured finish. I find that my face looks sun-kissed and glowy every time I apply the product.

My HG sunscreen

After an exhaustive search of a sunscreen that met all my requirements, I found this product and since then I have not used another one. It contains some of the newest and most innovative chemical filters and powerful antioxidants.

The texture is quite fluid and it has a slight yellowish tone that doesn't show up on my skin (fair) when spread out. It doesn't leave any white cast and lays perfectly under make-up. Actually, I think it is a great primer. I don't agree with the "dry-touch" and mattifying claim, in fact, it leaves my skin quite glowing, which I like. I found that by applying it patting rather than rubbing the final look is more matt.

Performance wise it is difficult to test sunscreens, apart from the fact that I don't get sun burnt. I also know it doesn't clog my pores or irritate my skin, which is sensitive.

I'm on my fourth bottle now and will continue to repurchase.
