bottle of human tears

i don't use this anymore, but i found it OK when i did. felt like it would really make a difference in how effectively my skin would absorb a moisturizer applied on top of it. (but this is true for all toning waters)

i used to work at muji and this is how i would describe it to customers:

"toning water should be applied with a cotton pad right after washing your face. it preps your skin to better absorb any moisturizers or creams applied over it. it was designed to have a similar ph level as human tears, which is why it's quite gentle on the skin. the high moisture one is good for dry skin, but if you have oily skin there are lighter formulas we have available. it has a light scent that isn't too overbearing."

yeah... that's pretty accurate, i guess. what i didn't tell them was that i kinda stopped using it because i felt like it wasn't worth the effort. live in an area where it's easy to buy other cheap japanese toners (hatomugi, kiku...) that are way nicer and have more interesting ingredients, but if you've only got a muji nearby then this isn't a bad option at all! just kinda basic.

note that muji products ONLY provide hydration. they won't do anything for acne or allergies or clogged pores. they'll only soothe irritation if it's caused by dry skin.

Effective and Cheap

This product has a lightweight and watery texture. It's somewhat similar to the Etude House Soon Jung PH 5.5 Relief Toner but so much more hydrating and moisturising. You can feel the hydration deep under your skin and after a few layers, it forms a thin moisturising layer over your skin. Best of all, it has a low price point and high volume. It's a good no frills hydrating toner and perfect for the 7-skin method. I've been applying at least 3 layers of this every night for the past half a year and I still haven't run out. As a side note, don't buy the accompanying spray nozzle. It's more of a water gun than a fine mist.

Really good , affordable ( only 6 dollars in Japan!) and simple toner

It's a light and powerful moisturizing toner . I feel refreshed every time I apply it . It does have a slight improving effect on your pores and brightness . I really recommend trying this out especially if you want something affordable and simple in your routine . Works really well for sensitive skin as well.
