Really love the thick texture, the scent and the hydrating effect on my skin. Unfortunately... didn't work well with acne. After applying it for am n pm routine for 2 days, i experienced painful breakouts along with redness on my forehead and chin:( . I thought it would calming and soothing my skin instead of making it worst, knowing that madecassoside functions are wound healing and soothing... this was an unexpected results for me. A week after the breakouts period, i found out that the toner contains PEG-60 (castor oil) that can triggers fungal acne.
I bought this toner after having good experience with products containing Centella Asiatica. Comes in a 200ml bottle, it truly is a good bargain.
The texture resembles a runny gel, and slightly milky in colour. There's a minimal citrusy scent but the scent doesn't lingers after application.
I always use this on damp face, and applied using my hand. 2 pumps with every application is what I needed.
This product is very soothing. It is very pleasant to use on a hot day or after using acids/chemical exfoliation. It calms redness and leaves skin feeling comfortable.
It moisturizes but only slightly. My skin absorbs it quite fast. Doesn't feel tacky and not oily.
Ever since I bought it I've stopped using other toners and just use this. There's no bad things to say. I really like this product and would definitely repurchase.
Almost perfect. It is truly an almost perfect product. Unfortunately, where it excelled in one aspect, it was just mediocre in another.
Here's a basic rundown:
* pH level: ~5-6
* Scent: Mild herbal-citrus, with more emphasis on citrus notes (probably due to essential oils contained).
* Colour: Colourless when applied, but slight white tinge of colour while product is still in the bottle.
* Texture: Viscous, but also quite drippy.
* Application: Usually 1-2 pumps spread on palms and patted onto damp skin. Rarely has a sticky/tacky finish. Does not work well when applied on dry skin.
Now, as I do deal with pretty reactive skin due to its sensitive and acne-prone nature, this Fluid was heaven-sent in terms of soothing properties. I found that after a few days of using it, my skin looked brighter and more even-toned, and much, much calmer. I mean, it basically helped reduce my facial redness and my skin felt "stronger", that I even got the courage to finally experiment with chemical exfoliation!
HOWEVER, here's the catch: it's quite underwhelming as a hydrating step. As I'm sensitive to high concentrations of hyaluronic acid/sodium hyaluronate, I was looking for a good product free of the ingredient. However, despite the stellar soothing properties, I felt that my dehydrated skin was crying for more hydration each time I used this.
Hence, 3/5 for hydration and a whopping 5/5 for soothing benefits. Averaging it out brings it to a pretty darn good 4/5, and my final rating.
