This eye gel is not just suitable for sensitive skin, but it is also supposed to treat sensitivity and reactivity of the skin. Same as all the products in the Sensibio line, it is formulated with the Toleridine patent of Bioderma, which inhibits the synthesis of inflammatory molecules.
The product comes in a 15 ml tube format so it is not completely air tight. Since you only need the smallest amount it will last you for several months using it twice a day.
I have pretty watery eyes so the exterior corner if often red and irritated. This cream helped with the irritation but I didn't notice the area getting "stronger" and more resistent to the irritation in a long term period. I didn't notice a great hydration and nutrition either.
I used this product back in the day when I thought you needed a specific product for the eye area. Now I've learnt that if your facial moisturizer is well formulated with sensitive skin approved ingredients you will most likely be able to use it around the eyes too. It is true that the skin around the eye area is very thin and delicate, so aggressive products cannot be used, but you shouldn't be using aggressive products in your face either (excluding of course spot treatments or specific active ingredients, like vitamin C or chemical exfoliators). Now I use my Bioderma Sensibio Moisturizer or La Roche-Posay Toleriane Moisturizer both for my face and eye area. So, my conclusion is: if you can use your moisturizer around the eyes, use it, the price per ounce/ml is usually lower.
I would recommend this product to those with very sensitive eyes who cannot even tolerate a face moisturizer for sensitive skin in that area.
