Basic no-fuss

I've always been skeptical about makeup brands churning out their own skincare line but Bobbi Brown's philosophy is different and we all can appreciate that.

I went into bobbi brown looking for their foundation and ended buying a few of their skincare products, the hydrating eye cream being one of them. It is a very basic eye cream, it has a very light fresh scent and applies well under the eyes. It almost acts like an eye primer and make-up sits beautifully over it. I'm giving it a 3 star not because I dislike it but because I was comparing it to the kiehl's avocado eye cream which I really adore and I feel that while it is a basic no fuss clean fresh hydrating eye cream, it does not feel as hydrating and nourishing as the avocado eye cream.

It actually works!

The under eye area has always been a constant battle for my otherwise great skin condition. I have tried many eye creams mostly from high-end brands but this is the first time I can actually confirm that a product makes a noticeable change.

For the past two years I am using almost exclusively asian skincare products, so I only came across this cream because it was gifted to me as a sample. Since the very first uses it made a big difference for my eyes, as it made almost all the puffiness go away. I was very surprised and actually tested stopping using it to confirm it was the cream that made my eye bags disappear. I then immediately went for the full size product and now it is the only western 'stranger' in my routine line-up.

Normally I go for eye creams with anti-age ingredients and purpose but I am willing to oversee the fact that this one is a simple hydrating cream, as it does just that perfectly. Although its creamy consistency is not heavy, it moisturises perfectly my very dry under-eye area and at the same time it works very well under make up, helping a lot with concealer application and performance.

Overall, because of the good hydration it provides it smoothes the fine lines, but it's major advantage is definitely the puffiness reduction. I didn't find any difference to my black circles, but doesn't claim that anyway.
