I have very dry skin condition. sometimes when i don't use good moisturiser, my skin will grow nodular acne.
So, I have used two tubes of CeraVe moisturing cream.
So far, my skin is moist and hydrate, my skin does't feel dry or oily when I apply this.
It is well absorbed!
There are times when my face or scamp triggered with eczema, therefore i apply it a little on it and it works!
I'm really sure this product is targeted for people with dry skin condition and does not suitable to people with oily skin.
This product isn't a disappointment at all. It's just not the most ideal for my skin. I feel this product is best for people who need regular occlusives in there lives or dry skin individuals. However anyone is able to use it and I would think they shouldn't have any bacterial or fungal acne problems with it (I certainly haven't). It has a firm cream consistency but that doesnt bother me. The problem for me is that my skin doesn't stay hydrated all day since the hydrating properties are lower on the list. In order for me to get decent results I apply it more liberally than I would like to, like a suncreen, plus it's already a thicker consistency.
I only give it 4 stars because I would like the hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and cholesterol to be higher in the ingredients.
P.S. I use to use the Cerave Hydrating Facial Cleanser as a lotion simply because of those ingredients being higher, and it had no anionic surfactants. But stopped a week later after seeing it had fungal acne feeding ingredients. I might retry it though. It was hydrating all day and only took a little amount. I liked it a lot.
It is a "worth the price" moisturizing. I have slightly oily skin and i became prone to acne and using this cream didn't worsen my issues. In fact, it did calm my oil production and irritation due cleansers. I used it for 4 months, day and night.
Pro: you can feel the difference after 4-7 days of use: a soft, elastic, glowy face than prevents the appearance of wrinkles. It while repair your skin barrier if you extent the usage on your daily routine.
Con: it has a heavy texture because it is an occlusive cream. Sometimes it can feel like a mask over your face. Sweating while dilute the cream and produce white residue in your face. If it gets into your eyes, it while burn a little bit. Also, you will have to wait 1-2 minutes (until it gets set on your face) before applying sunscreen or make-up because it doesn't mix well and creates patches. It didn't help me to reduce my post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
