Excellent Ointment

Great for tattoos and on skin. I use this at night to form a barrier and keep my hydrating serums into my skin for absorption. A little bit goes a long way, careful to not rub against any clothing as it will create an oily stain. I feel protected and my skin can breathe.

I LOVE THIS

I have very dry skin on my hands. It got so dry that it'll turn red and start to bleed. When it will heal it will form brown scabs all over my arms. I tried many creams and lotions such as Nivea, Petroleum Jelly, Prescription Cream, etc. I went to my doctor and she recommended this to me and it only took a couple of days to heal. I been using this for 7 years. I also use it on my lips and it keeps them hydrated. It is a bit greasy so I only apply this during night time. I wake up with nice and soft hands.

My holy grail

The absolute only product that will consistently alleviate my dry skin or eczema-induced misery. It cures my dry skin overnight, and while it doesn't reduce or eliminate my eczema, it keeps the misery at bay, which is always appreciated. My absolute go-to for hands and lips in winter.

Heals and protects compromised skin; regular use on acne-prone skin will cause problems

Overall, Aquaphor is a fantastic product when used as intended. Easily obtainable and very affordable, it promotes healing and provides protection for dry, irritated, raw, and/or post-procedure (laser) skin. When I'm desperate for skin relief or wound healing, Aquaphor is my default.

It is an occlusive and contains several comedogenic ingredients, so extended use on the face is not ideal if acne is a concern. I apply it only to targeted areas.

Its consistency is similar to Vaseline, so home/nighttime use is best. Be aware that it will (at least temporarily) stain clothing and linens; I've successfully treated some stains and noticed others fade away on their own through regular laundering over time.

Ultimate skin protector for highly reactive skin

Isotretinoin (accutane - acne medication) should come with a tube of this product. Although it is a simple product it is mild and somewhat moisturizing it can be applied over open wounds and chapped skin or sunburn. This forms a barrier between your skin and potential irritants around you. When I was taking Accutane I would put a thick layer of this on my skin at night to soothe it. I would not recommend this for daytime use as it is very oily and sits on your face rather than absorbing, I feel that this will not be a problem at night.

I recommend this for all skin types that are experiencing a bit of skin trauma.

Side note: I applied this to my shoulders after a bad sunburn and the skin was not as raw and painful as it was a few days prior to me using this.
