Less is more

I didn't usually get worse allergy with cosmetics but this product was made me learned the hard way. I applied to whole face. In the first day, it worked perfectly on my skin: reduced oily, cleared pore. But in the second day, I used more amount than usual then I felt itchy on my skin. I stopped using it in the third day, after washing my face and applying my normal moisturizer, my skin had redness, swelling and burning, This weird sensation continuing for 4 days. That was horrible. My recommendation is just use small amount on needed area.

Help Open Pore Not the Pimple

I tried these product because i did stop taking ISOTRETINOIN (ACCUTANE) for 1 year (as my dermatologist prescribe). And i don't want to use ISTOTRETINOIN again, since i read many information about it. And i am using EFFACLAR ASTRINGENT one month already. And it reduce my oil, but not too much. I still have many pimples on my face. And the pimple moves everywhere. Sometimes when one is heal already and the other one is getting bigger. I will continue this product until few months to see the result. I'm using EFFACLAR DUO +, and EFFACLAR PURIFYING CLEANSING GEL. I am not sure about my pimples. Because sometimes it looks very bad, very big pimple with bacteria inside it (white thing inside the pimple). And i never have that pimple ever in my life. But i still thinking in possitive way, well maybe it part of the process. Some of my whiteheads now is getting better, and maybe because these product also open my pore.

works

Comes in a nice tube packaging and smells fresh, almost a tad sweet. Has a consistency of a smooth lotion or emulsion and a milky color.
Used this for years mostly as a spot treatment on whiteheads/closed comedones. Sometimes mixed it in with my moisturizer as a preventative measure or put it on my nose to combat blackheads, but after seeing the ingredient list, I wouldn't recommend doing that due to some clogging ingredients. I ran to this product anytime I felt a breakout, and even thought I'm not a fan of the ingredient list, I gotta admit that it was very effective. If a whitehead had already formed, it popped it over night. If something was being conceived under my skin, it killed it at the rood without giving it a chance to come up. I can feel it burn a bit for a while after putting it on the spot. One strange thing that it does is that if you blob the product on and then let it sit there for a good amount of time, you will notice the presence of dimethicone, because the blob will eventually turn into a silicone ball and just roll off the skin.
It's incredibly hard to use up this much product just on spots, and I definitely threw half-full tubes out before because they expired, but at the same time the price is that of smaller spot treatments. Will be looking for less clogging spot treatments with no fragrance.
I don't believe it ever broke me out, but I'm not sure how it would do on oilier skin types.

I use it as a spot treatment not as a moisturiser

Touted as an anti-blemish moisturiser that corrects and hydrates, blemish and acne prone skin. However I use it as a spot treatment, Note: clogs that I had in the past could be due to Butylene Glycol that caused small comedones and stopping those products instead of using effaclar duo (+) is better. Do not use this on whiteheads that are surfacing and blackheads (open comedones). Only on clogs that have a thin layer of skin surface on them and on pimples that show a head surfacing. (+) Has several ingredients listed as bad for oily skin and comedogenic including Mysristy Myristate (emollient, opacifying, might have caused clogs on thinner parts of face like cheekbones and temples, if rubbed in it exacerbates open comedones into pimples). Salicylic acid is way down the line. Difference from effaclar duo is the use of benzoyl peroxide (prematurely ages skin) instead of salicylic acid.
