My thoughts on Neogen Bio-Peel Gauze Pads Green tea
I had my hopes set for this one since I simply loved the wine version of it. Sadly, this one doesn’t make my skin very happy. Instead it makes my skin drier. Comparing this one to the wine version it is a huge difference and I have checked that I had the same version of them, that is the 2015 version.
My skin is really dry so it is really important for me to exfoliate or it will simply look patchy instead of smooth, and the products I add on top will simply not penetrate.
The packaging is really nice, the pads are easy to get out and to use, just follow the instructions. There are also ingredients in English on the jar, so that is really nice as well. I really like when I can read on the packaging instead of google the information for the product.
I have been using this for a while now and I do think they do exfoliate ok but the feeling after is more on the “make my skin drier” side, that soft and smooth.
Usually I am a sucker for products with green tea and they usually work very well with my skin, so I was surprised of my feeling for this.
This is one of my favorite exfoliators as it combines physical as well chemical exfoliation. These rough textured pads are soaked in a liquid containing the popular antioxidant - Green Tea which I found interesting. You put 2-3 of your fingers in the gauze (imagine a circular glove for your fingers) and swipe the pad along your face, there is a rougher side that you use first and once you are satisfied that you have exfoliated well you turn the gauze around to the smoother side and wipe away excess debris. Be sure to rinse your face after use. I feel that this is better suited for oily skin types as this did dry out my face quite badly. I did stop using this variety and switched to the wine version.
Of the three varieties namely: Wine, Green Tea and Lemon, I much prefer the wine as the green tea and lemon are a too astringent for dry skin.
These pads are too bulky to travel with as they are quite big and the container is massive, they do however come in single pad sachets for easy travel which I love.
