In August last year (2019) I completely changed my entire skincare routine, and this was one of the first products I tried. I have oily/combination skin that always seems to be experiencing some kind of crisis, and instead of being rough with it I find I get the best results from being gentle and consistent. If you're looking for that, this is perfect.

I had congested skin around my jawline that wasn't going away. I tried products with salicylic acid, like The Ordinary's 2% Salicylic Acid Solution, but my skin would get so dry using it. I probably overdid it, but I find it works best as a spot treatment. I thought I'd try something similar but more gentle. This has betaine salicylate which is a milder BHA, and because this has a form of hyaluronic acid (sodium hyaluronate) and aloe vera leaf extract, it's really gentle for skin.

It feels so nice - it's light and fresh feeling while not being a liquid. It's like solid water or jellified cucumber, or something.

To sum up this is a gentle BHA treatment gel as moisturiser. I use it three times a week at night as a moisturising step. If I want something more occlusive/moisturising I layer a facial oil over the top. It's also silicone free and fungal acne safe!
