Rating Breakdown
Community: 2 Ratings • 5 ReviewsI tried this initially with a beauty blender and it went on horribly on my face. I was using a lot if product as my BB just soaked it up, and then it would oxidise on my face with orange patches. So I gave up.
I tried it again with a buffer brush instead and it worked a lot better, using a lot less product and no more oxidisation. But, it definitely settles into wrinkles too much and after a few hours becomes oily and seems to slide off. There are better coverage foundations in this price range.
I recommend using the Serum version instead with a good concealer.
the coverage effect is good...
able to cover the redness and some dark spots...
feel matte right after application...
but after few hours of application, the face will become very oily...
if you need a high coverage foundation like this, suggest to use it together with loose powder in order to reduce the oiliness after few hours of application...
I really wanted to like this foundation. After all, it comes in a ton of shades, and it's inexpensive. I found a great shade match for my skin, but after wearing it for several hours, I noticed that the foundation became extremely patchy, and the coverage seemed to have melted from medium to barely-there. If you don't want or need a full coverage/medium coverage foundation, this might be great for you! Alternatively, if you have dry skin, this might work really well, as it's a very hydrating and dewy foundation. I didn't experience any breakouts from this, but it didn't provide the coverage I want, so unfortunately, I had to stop using it.
This was my first major disappointment with a product from The Ordinary, but I guess you can't be good at everything. This foundation really was the worst and I can't say anything redeeming about it except it didn't affect my skin, thank heavens. But as foundations go, the formula was weird, almost like water with pigment. The foundation just sat on my face and the pigment was sort of powdery and settled into my pores, creating these dots. It didn't even look good in the initial application and I tried various ways to make it work: I shook the bottle (as you're supposed to, anyway), I applied it with fingers and with a sponge. I know it's cheap, but I wouldn't waste my money as I don't see how this would work for anyone.
I really wanted to like this product and although the price tag and coverage are amazing, it irritated my skin and clogged my pores! I tried it a few times on top of my favorite skin care products and everytime my skin was left irritated and bumpy!! On the positive side it has very good coverage, it's not cakey and it looks great on the skin! If you don't have sensitive skin maybe this foundation could work for you!
