I ordered this because of the high concentration of Vitamin C. The goal was to brighten my skin and remove dark spots that were left from the pimples. Even though this was not the most recommended form of the Vitamin C from the ordinary for acne-prone skin, I can say that I am very pleased with the results. I use this product in the evenings, whenever I think my skin needs a "reboot" (about once-twice a week). In the morning I wake up with glowing and soft skin.
Also, i tried to use it as a spot treatment, on very active pimples (I may be guilty of picking my face). Once I apply it, I do not rub it in instantly, I leave it as a "spot-mask" (is this a thing?) for 5-10 minutes and it helps with redness and inflammation, so keep it in mind as a tip.
Overall everything is fine, but I think that this serum can slightly clog your pores and provoke the build-up of blackheads. I have noticed that in some areas of my face, instead of regular blackheads i have "orangeheads" and I suppose it's oxidized Vitamin C. The point is, if you have huge pores and problems with blackheads be careful.
I didn't do my usual review reading before ordering this, so I was horrified when I got it because of all the negative review I stumbled upon about its texture, smell and staining properties. Fortunately for me I didn't experience any of those. It's true that the texture is a bit sandy due to the high concentration of L-ascorbic acid powder but I didn't find it rough or irritating to my skin. For the first couple of weeks I used to dilute the product with my moisturiser until I felt I had build up a tolerance for vitamin C so I never experienced any stinging. It's a really potent antioxidant so the results are visible almost instantly - my complexion is evened out and smooth, looking airbrushed. I love using it during the day after water-based serums and pairing it with a good SPF 50 sunscreen. However I don't know if due to the texture there would be any problems with using it under makeup.
I've been using this product for a little over two months and it has been working well for my sensitive and dry skin. At first, the tingling can be a bit much while the skin gets acclimated but it will settle once you add moisturizer. It is a bit greasy but the instructions say to use at night and I find the product is fully absorbed in the morning. my rosacea has begun subsiding and my overall akin texture has evened out, even my mom complimented my skin when I visited her over the holidays.
