I apply this product on dry lips and on a scar I've got as a result of birthmark removal. BUT I would never used it on full face because I know it would clog my pores. The texture is really rich but not too greasy. It doesn't irritate my skin and it's antibacterial.
I recommend this product on scars, burnt skin and dry patches but not on those parts of face where you tend to have breakouts. I think it would also done great job as a winter hand cream and a soothing baby moisturizer (for diaper rash etc.).
TLDR:
+ antibacterial
+ rich texture
- clogs pores
Use it just locally.
Having had very severe acne issues, I was issued an Accutane prescription. One of its numerous side effects were dramatically chapped lips. Regardless of how careful I was to moisturize and hydrate correctly, my lips were only getting drier and more painful as they were cracking as soon as I smiled, yawned and ate.
Uriage's lip balm has had a remarkable soothing effect on my traumatized lips. My lips softer and altogether healthier and the balm decreased the pain from their cracking. It's definitely long-lasting and somehow makes the lips seems plumper.
This being said, it does leave the sensation of a barrier on the lips because of its texture, which I didn't necessarily dislike, but I certainly noticed it. I also feel that it doesn't exactly remain on the lips, as it often causes a glossy smear around the mouth, but in the end it's great because it hydrates all around. I would only suggest applying it at night, because it doesn't look exactly glamorous if applied during the day.
The only thing I somewhat disliked was its taste. It technically doesn't have one per ser, nor should it have a smell, and yet, it has the medicinal non-taste taste... if it makes any sense. More reason to apply it at night!
