SkinCarisma's product database is built and powered entirely by its community. We need your effort and dedication to keep the product information as accurate and consistent as possible to make it easier to for each other to browse products. We've prepared a set of guidelines that product submissions should adhere closely to.

Product Name Guidelines

Brand name for product's has it's own separate field and should not appear in the product name. Including the brand name in the product name will result it in it appearing twice when browsing products.

WRONG:

CosRX Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser

GREAT:

Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser

In most cases the first letter of each word should be capitalised. One exception would be if the brand has purposely lower-cased all characters of the product name as part of their brand.

WRONG:

low ph good morning gel cleanser

GREAT:

Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser

WRONG:

LOW PH GOOD MORNING GEL CLEANSER

GREAT:

Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser

Acronyms and certain phrases should be capitalised. For example, common acronyms to capitalise would be: SPF, PA, PH & etc.

WRONG:

MISSHA Flash Up Sun spf50+/pa++++

GREAT:

MISSHA Flash Up Sun SPF50+/PA++++

Some products come in packs of different quantity, however these should be left out of the product name.

WRONG:

Benton Snail Bee High Content Mask Pack (Pack of 5)

GREAT:

Benton Snail Bee High Content Mask Pack

For products with different variations, ensure the product name correctly identifies the variation. Seperate variation by using "-" or "(". If a product of a different variation exists, use existing "-" or "("

WRONG:

Fresh Cherry Tint Red

GREAT:

Fresh Cherry Tint - Red
Fresh Cherry Tint (Red)

WRONG:

Fresh Cherry Tint - All Colours
Fresh Cherry Tint - Red, Yellow, Blue

When adding brands, provide the official website of the brand

Capitalise brand name as per brand guideline/style

Ingredient Lists

Ingredient lists are one of the bread and butter of SkinCarisma. By providing the most accurate and up to date ingredient list, it goes a long way to help the community make better decisions.

Here are some tips to find the most accurate ingredient lists:

Brand Packaging is the best way to find the most accurate ingredient list.
The second best method is to gather ingredient lists from Official Brand Websites or email the brands directly for the ingredient list.
If the above two methods are unavailable, then we also recommend looking at Third Party E-Commerce Retailers as often they display ingredient lists for products that they sell as well.

Ensure the format of ingredient lists are correct as well. This helps the analyzer tool match the ingredients as accurately as possible.

Each ingredient should be properly separated by a comma (« , »)
Remove unnecessary texts in ingredient lists which are not the ingredient name themselves.

Do not include brand name in the product name

Capitalise the first letter of each word

Do not capitalise every character of a product name

Certain acronyms or phrases should be capitalised

Do not include the quantity of products in the product name

Include variation in the product name when appropriate. This includes different colours, scents or types

Create a new products for different variations even if ingredient list is the same
