Ingredient breakdown
INGREDIENTSMagnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C)Proven
A stable, water-soluble derivative of Vitamin C that brightens skin, inhibits melanin production, and provides antioxidant protection without the irritation of pure ascorbic acid. Ideal for the sensitive eye area.
- Function: Brightening, antioxidant, collagen support
- Research: Shown to reduce melanin synthesis and improve skin luminosity with regular topical application
- Stability: More stable than L-ascorbic acid at neutral pH, less prone to oxidation in hydrogel format
Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root ExtractProven
A skincare powerhouse with dual benefits: the active compound glabridin inhibits tyrosinase to reduce pigmentation, while glycyrrhizin provides potent anti-inflammatory action. Studies suggest it may be more effective than hydroquinone for skin lightening with fewer side effects.
- Function: Depigmenting, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant
- Research: Topical application of 0.5% glabridin shown to inhibit UVB-induced pigmentation in clinical studies
- Synergy: Combined with Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate in this formula for enhanced soothing
Niacinamide (Vitamin B3)Proven
A multi-tasking ingredient that helps brighten dark circles, strengthen the skin barrier, improve hydration, and reduce the appearance of fine lines. Works synergistically with Vitamin C for enhanced brightening.
- Function: Brightening, barrier repair, anti-aging, anti-blemish
- Research: At 2-5%, proven to reduce hyperpigmentation, improve skin elasticity, and reduce redness
- Compatibility: Pairs well with all other actives in this formula
Ferulic AcidProven
A powerful plant-based antioxidant that stabilizes and boosts the efficacy of Vitamin C. When combined with Vitamins C and E, ferulic acid creates a synergistic effect that significantly enhances free radical protection.
- Function: Antioxidant, UV protection booster, Vitamin C stabilizer
- Research: The Vitamin C + E + Ferulic acid synergy is one of the most well-documented antioxidant combinations in dermatology
- Note: Approved as a sunscreen ingredient in Japan at concentrations up to 10%
CaffeineProven
Improves microcirculation and constricts blood vessels under the eyes to reduce puffiness and dark circles. Also provides antioxidant protection against UV damage.
- Function: Depuffing, circulation booster, antioxidant
- Research: Topical caffeine shown to reduce under-eye puffiness and improve appearance of dark circles by constricting dilated blood vessels
Panax Ginseng Root ExtractPromising
An adaptogenic botanical that energizes and revitalizes skin. Contains ginsenosides which provide antioxidant benefits and help boost collagen production for a firmer, more youthful under-eye area.
- Function: Revitalizing, energizing, antioxidant
- Research: Ginsenosides demonstrate anti-wrinkle and skin-revitalizing properties in preliminary studies
AllantoinProven
A gentle, well-tolerated soothing agent that calms irritation, promotes cell regeneration, and helps maintain skin moisture. Excellent for the sensitive under-eye area.

Where it fits in your routine
ROUTINEApply after cleansing on clean, dry skin. Use AM or PM. Store in the fridge for extra de-puffing. Pat remaining serum into skin after removing — do not rinse.
How to use
HOW TO USESeparate the Patch
Use the enclosed spatula to gently lift and separate each hydrogel patch from the jar. Avoid using fingers to prevent contamination and slipping.
Apply Under Eyes
Place the patch onto clean, dry under-eye skin with the thickest part positioned at the outer corner of the eye. Press gently for 30 seconds to secure adhesion.
Relax for 10 Minutes
Leave the patches on for 10 minutes (or longer if desired). Sit back and relax — the patches work best when you stay still to prevent sliding.
Remove & Pat In Serum
Discard the patches after use. Gently pat the remaining serum into the skin with your ring finger. Do not wash off — the serum continues to work.
Follow with Eye Cream
Apply your regular eye cream or moisturizer over the treated area. Wait 2 hours before applying concealer or makeup for best results.

Budget-friendly alternatives (dupes)
DUPESAlso features Vitamin C + Licorice + Green Tea + Caffeine. Includes pearlescent minerals for instant luminosity. Only 5-minute application time. However, $3/pair vs $0.80/pair makes Pixi much better value for regular use.
Affordable hydrogel patches with Hyaluronic Acid and Collagen for hydration and de-puffing. Lacks the Vitamin C and Licorice brightening complex. Better for hydration than dark circle treatment.
Same brand and price point but formulated with Cucumber, Hyaluronic Acid, and Caffeine instead of Vitamin C. Better for pure de-puffing; BeautifEYE is better for brightening and dark circles.

Frequently asked questions
FAQYes, the BeautifEYE patches are generally considered safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The formula contains no retinoids, salicylic acid, hydroquinone, or chemical sunscreens. The Vitamin C derivative used (Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate) and Niacinamide are both pregnancy-safe. Caffeine is present only in trace topical amounts. As always, consult your physician before introducing new products during pregnancy, as Pixi recommends on their website.
Use with caution. The formula contains Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate (an ester), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), and Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract — all of which may potentially feed malassezia yeast. If you have active fungal acne around the eye area, consider alternatives with a simpler, FA-safe ingredient list. However, since the patches are used for only 10 minutes and removed, the risk is lower than leave-on products.
BeautifEYE is compatible with most skincare actives. However, some users report mild stinging when combining with retinol — if this occurs, alternate days or use the patches in the morning and retinol at night. The formula already contains Vitamin C and Ferulic Acid, so layering with additional Vitamin C serums is fine but may not be necessary. Avoid using immediately after AHA/BHA exfoliation, as freshly exfoliated skin may be more sensitive.
BeautifEYE is suitable for all skin types and is particularly excellent for dry and combination skin due to its rich hydrating formula with Glycerin, Squalane, and Shea Butter. Those with oily skin may find the residual serum slightly heavy. Sensitive skin types generally tolerate it well thanks to Allantoin and Licorice, though a patch test is recommended. Acne-prone individuals should note the presence of Coconut Extract and Shea Butter.
Immediate results include hydration, cooling, and a plumper under-eye area. De-puffing benefits are typically visible after the first use. For brightening and dark circle reduction, expect gradual improvement over 3–6 weeks of consistent use. Vitamin C and Licorice work cumulatively to inhibit melanin production, so patience and regular application are key. Results vary depending on the severity and underlying cause of dark circles.
Apply after cleansing and toning, on clean, dry skin — before serums, eye cream, and moisturizer. Use in the morning for a refreshed start, in the evening as part of your nighttime routine, or before special events for an instant pick-me-up. After removal, pat the remaining serum into the skin and continue with your regular routine. If applying makeup, wait approximately 2 hours for best concealer blending.
BeautifEYE has a comedogenic rating of approximately 2 out of 5 (low risk). The formula is primarily water-based hydrogel, and the patches are only worn for 10 minutes before removal, which significantly reduces pore-clogging risk compared to leave-on products. Squalane (rating 0) and Niacinamide are non-comedogenic. Shea Butter (rating 0–2) and Coconut Extract may pose minimal risk for very acne-prone individuals.
The Period After Opening (PAO) is 12 months, as indicated on the packaging. The jar contains 30 pairs (60 patches), which lasts one month with daily use, or up to 3 months when used 2–3 times per week. Store upright to keep the serum evenly distributed. Some users report that the last few pairs can be slightly drier — storing in the fridge and keeping the jar sealed tightly helps maintain serum levels.
Verdict: The Pixi BeautifEYE Vitamin-C & Licorice Patches deliver an excellent hydrating, cooling, and mildly brightening experience at a competitive price point ($0.80/pair). The combination of stable Vitamin C, dual Licorice complex, Niacinamide, Caffeine, and Ferulic Acid is well-formulated for gradual under-eye brightening and de-puffing. They truly shine as a quick pick-me-up treatment and pre-makeup prep step. However, temper expectations for dramatic dark circle removal — results are cumulative and subtle. Best suited for those seeking a gentle, pregnancy-safe, everyday under-eye treatment that hydrates first and brightens over time. For more aggressive dark circle correction, consider the Peter Thomas Roth Potent-C patches with their more potent THD Ascorbate Vitamin C.

Quick Product Notes
Ever used a product that promised a certain effect but provided no results? It might not have contained any notable ingredients that could have been responsible for that promised effect. It doesn't matter what the marketing or packaging «promises» it can do, if it doesn't contain anything that can help - then the likelihood of it helping is low.
We help you identify key notable ingredients that have been shown to help with effects such as acne-fighting, brightening, UV-protection, wound healing & anti-aging to help you achieve your skincare goals smarter. Please note that different notable ingredients have varying levels of research behind them, some are extremely well proven yet some have mixed research in their efficacy.
Just because a product doesn't contain any notable ingredients doesn't mean it's bad. And a product with notable ingredients (or even many) doesn't necessarily guarantee the efficacy of the product performing these effects either. There are other factors such as ingredient quality, concentration and formulation that will ultimately determine this.

Ingredient Safety Breakdown refers to the percentage % of ingredients in different risk categories as classified by EWG (Environment Working Group) if they are available. There are almost endless cosmetic ingredients and they are one of the few organisations globally that have assigned ratings to a lot of the more commonly used ingredients which is why we reference them.
EWG is seen by many to be more on the alarmist side in their assignment of health ratings resulting in rating ingredients as riskier than they actually are. We recommend using this a reference point rather than a strict guide of ingredient safety and to always do further research if into ingredients that you may find suspect.
