Ingredient breakdown

INGREDIENTS

Cannabis Sativa Stem (CBD) OilPromising

Derived from the hemp plant, CBD oil is prized in skincare for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and sebum-regulating properties. It works to restore balance in the skin by controlling oil production and boosting hydration levels.

  • Anti-Inflammatory: Studies show CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system in skin to reduce inflammation and calm irritation.
  • Sebum Regulation: Research suggests CBD may normalize excessive sebum production, helping balance oily skin.
  • Antioxidant: Provides superior free-radical protection, enhancing the efficacy of other antioxidant ingredients in the formula.
CBD skincare research is still emerging. Most evidence comes from in vitro studies. Consult your doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding.

Niacinamide (Vitamin B3)Proven

A versatile skincare powerhouse that aids cellular respiration, inhibits skin pigmentation, and improves epidermal barrier function. One of the most well-researched active ingredients in dermatology.

  • Barrier Support: Boosts ceramide production by up to 34% to strengthen the skin barrier.
  • Anti-Inflammatory: Reduces redness, blotchiness, and irritation through multiple biochemical pathways.
  • Pore Minimizing: Shown to visibly reduce pore appearance and control sebum output after 4–8 weeks of use.
Well-tolerated by most skin types. Compatible with virtually all other active ingredients including retinol and vitamin C.

Sodium HyaluronateProven

A low-molecular-weight form of hyaluronic acid that penetrates deeper into the skin than standard HA. Provides intense hydration by attracting and retaining moisture in the epidermis.

  • Hydration: Can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water, providing deep and lasting moisture.
  • Barrier Repair: Improves skin barrier function by retaining moisture and plumping fine lines.
  • Penetration: Sodium hyaluronate's smaller molecular size allows better absorption compared to hyaluronic acid.

Coffea Arabica Seed ExtractPromising

Coffee seed extract boosts microcirculation to deliver oxygen and nutrients to skin cells while preventing trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL). Rich in caffeine and chlorogenic acid.

  • Circulation: Caffeine stimulates blood flow, bringing oxygen and nutrients to the surface for a healthier, firmer appearance.
  • TEWL Prevention: Helps lock in moisture by reducing water loss through the skin's surface.
  • Antioxidant: Chlorogenic acid offers protection against UV-induced oxidative stress.
The stimulating nature of caffeine may cause flushing in rosacea-prone or very sensitive skin.

Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf ExtractProven

Green tea extract provides powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-microbial support. Its polyphenols (especially EGCG) are among the most studied plant-derived antioxidants in skincare.

  • Polyphenols: Rich in catechins that neutralize free radicals and protect against environmental damage.
  • Soothing: L-theanine and polyphenols help calm inflamed blood vessels and reduce irritation.
  • Sebum Control: Research shows topical green tea may reduce sebum production in oily skin.

Frequently asked questions

FAQ

No. This product is contraindicated for pregnancy and breastfeeding. It contains Cannabis Sativa Stem (CBD) Oil and multiple citrus essential oils (tangerine, orange, grapefruit, lemon) that lack sufficient safety data for use during pregnancy or nursing. The retailer Art of Skin Care explicitly states it is contraindicated for pregnant or nursing mothers. Always consult your physician before using CBD products during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Use with caution. The formula contains PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil and PPG-26-Buteth-26, which are emulsifiers that may potentially feed malassezia yeast. While the overall formula is lightweight and primarily water-based, those with a history of fungal acne should patch test before full application. If you experience small, uniform bumps that itch after use, discontinue and consult a dermatologist.

Yes. This mist is compatible with all major active ingredients including retinol, vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid), AHAs (glycolic, lactic acid), and BHAs (salicylic acid). The niacinamide, aloe, and CBD in the formula may actually help soothe irritation caused by strong actives. Use after cleansing and before applying your active serums. There are no pH conflicts or destabilizing interactions.

This mist is recommended for oily, combination, normal, and dry skin types. It is especially well-suited for oily and combination skin due to the sebum-balancing properties of CBD and niacinamide. Dry skin types will benefit from the hydrating aloe, glycerin, and hyaluronic acid, though a heavier moisturizer should follow. It is not recommended for rosacea-prone or very sensitive skin due to the stimulating coffee extract and citrus essential oils.

Hydration and refreshment benefits are immediate from the first use. Visible reduction in redness and improved skin balance typically appear within 3–4 weeks of consistent use. More pronounced anti-aging benefits such as improved firmness, pore minimization, and enhanced radiance generally take 6–8 weeks. For full results including barrier strengthening and cumulative antioxidant protection, allow 8–12 weeks of daily use.

Use immediately after cleansing as step 2 in your routine (replacing or acting as your toner step). Spray 2–4 pumps onto clean skin, then follow with your serums, moisturizer, and sunscreen (AM). It can also be spritzed throughout the day over makeup to refresh and hydrate without disturbing your look. It doubles as an excellent makeup setting spray.

This product has a very low comedogenic rating of 1 out of 5. The formula is primarily water-based (organic aloe leaf juice is the first ingredient) with lightweight humectants like glycerin and sodium hyaluronate. It does not contain heavy oils, waxes, or known pore-clogging ingredients. The niacinamide actually helps minimize pore appearance. It is generally safe for acne-prone skin and can even be used on the body to treat back and chest acne.

The estimated shelf life is 12 months after opening. The formula contains phenoxyethanol, caprylyl glycol, and ethylhexylglycerin as preservatives to maintain product stability. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight for optimal longevity. You can refrigerate it for a more refreshing experience. Discard if you notice any changes in color, texture, or scent.

— Skincarisma verdict
4.2 / 5 ★★★★☆

Verdict: The GlyMed Plus CBD Skin Mist is a premium, professionally formulated toner mist that delivers real benefits through its combination of CBD oil, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and a rich superfruit antioxidant blend. It excels at balancing oily and combination skin, reducing redness, and providing a radiant, dewy finish. The multi-use design as a toner, setting spray, and mid-day refresher adds genuine value. However, the $84 price tag is steep for a 4 oz mist, and the contraindication for pregnancy, rosacea, and sensitive skin limits its audience. If you value professional-grade CBD skincare and your skin tolerates the formula well, this is an excellent choice — but budget-conscious shoppers can find similar (though less comprehensive) hydrating mists for a fraction of the cost.

lightbulb What are Notable Effects & Ingredients?

Ever used a product that promised a certain effect but provided no results? It might not have contained any notable ingredients that could have been responsible for that promised effect. It doesn't matter what the marketing or packaging «promises» it can do, if it doesn't contain anything that can help - then the likelihood of it helping is low.

We help you identify key notable ingredients that have been shown to help with effects such as acne-fighting, brightening, UV-protection, wound healing & anti-aging to help you achieve your skincare goals smarter. Please note that different notable ingredients have varying levels of research behind them, some are extremely well proven yet some have mixed research in their efficacy.

muscle Pro Tip Alert!

Just because a product doesn't contain any notable ingredients doesn't mean it's bad. And a product with notable ingredients (or even many) doesn't necessarily guarantee the efficacy of the product performing these effects either. There are other factors such as ingredient quality, concentration and formulation that will ultimately determine this.

lightbulb What is the Ingredient Safety Breakdown?

Ingredient Safety Breakdown refers to the percentage % of ingredients in different risk categories as classified by EWG (Environment Working Group) if they are available. There are almost endless cosmetic ingredients and they are one of the few organisations globally that have assigned ratings to a lot of the more commonly used ingredients which is why we reference them.

muscle Pro Tip Alert!

EWG is seen by many to be more on the alarmist side in their assignment of health ratings resulting in rating ingredients as riskier than they actually are. We recommend using this a reference point rather than a strict guide of ingredient safety and to always do further research if into ingredients that you may find suspect.
