Jojoba Oil - USDA Organic
Jojoba Oil - USDA Organic
Product Description
Kate Blanc's USDA Certified Organic Jojoba Oil is a single-ingredient, cold-pressed, unrefined and hexane-free oil. Because jojoba is technically a liquid wax ester almost identical in structure to skin's own sebum, it sinks in quickly to soften and hydrate face, hair, cuticles and nails without leaving a greasy film. Suitable for all skin types, it doubles as a gentle moisturizer, makeup remover and slip oil for gua sha and dermaplaning.
β¨ Texture & Feel
Sebum-Like Structure
Jojoba is a liquid wax ester nearly identical to skin's own sebum, so it absorbs cleanly and can help signal balanced oil production.
Lasting Moisture
Seals in hydration and soothes dry, tight skin while reinforcing the skin barrier β without a heavy or oily afterfeel.
Multi-Use Oil
One bottle for face, body, hair ends, scalp, cuticles and nails, plus slip for gua sha and dermaplaning.
Naturally Rich in Vitamin E
Contains naturally occurring vitamin E (tocopherols), an antioxidant that helps protect skin from oxidative stress.
π‘οΈ Safety & Compatibility
Pure jojoba contains no retinoids, salicylic acid, hydroquinone or chemical sunscreens, so it's generally considered safe. Always confirm with your doctor.
Jojoba is a wax ester rather than a triglyceride oil, so many tolerate it, but its small fatty-acid content means it isn't guaranteed malassezia-safe. Patch test if FA-prone.
Rated low (2/5) on the comedogenic scale and widely used by acne-prone users as a lightweight, non-pore-clogging oil.
Single-ingredient, fragrance-free and free of common allergens. Rare oil allergies exist, so patch test on very reactive skin first.
Pairs well with retinol, vitamin C, AHA/BHA β use those first, then seal with jojoba. No known negative interactions.
No fragrance, preservatives, additives, silicones or fillers β just one organic ingredient in amber glass.
π¬ Ingredient Breakdown
π± Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil 100% Proven
The single ingredient in this bottle. Pressed from the seeds of the desert jojoba shrub, it is uniquely a liquid wax ester rather than a true oil β closely mimicking human skin sebum. This gives it excellent stability, light absorption and the ability to moisturize and balance without clogging pores. It is naturally rich in vitamin E and behaves as an emollient with mild humectant-like properties.
- Structure: Composed mainly of long-chain wax esters, making it one of the most sebum-similar plant ingredients in skincare.
- Barrier & soothing: Its fatty-acid profile supports the skin barrier and can soothe dry, tight or flaky skin.
- Sebum balance: Considered promising for helping regulate the look of oily skin by signalling balanced sebum activity.
- Stability: The wax-ester makeup resists rancidity, giving jojoba an unusually long shelf life among carrier oils.

Dispense 2β4 drops into clean palms and rub gently to warm the oil.
Press into skin
Pat over damp face and neck after serums; press rather than rub for best absorption.
Extend the uses
Smooth a drop through hair ends, onto cuticles, or as slip for gua sha and dermaplaning.
Seal & finish

β Frequently Asked Questions
Generally yes. It's a single, pure plant oil with no retinoids, salicylic acid, hydroquinone or chemical sunscreen β the ingredients usually flagged during pregnancy. As with any product, confirm with your doctor or midwife if you have concerns.
It's borderline. Jojoba is a liquid wax ester rather than a triglyceride oil, so many fungal-acne sufferers tolerate it well. However, it does contain some fatty acids and isn't certified malassezia-safe, so we mark it as "caution." Patch test first if you're prone to fungal acne.
Yes. Apply your active treatment first, let it absorb, then layer jojoba oil on top to seal and soften. It has no known negative interactions and can actually help buffer dryness or irritation from strong actives.
All skin types. It excels on oily, dry and combination skin because it mimics natural sebum and absorbs lightly. Sensitive and acne-prone skin generally do well too, with a patch test recommended for very reactive or fungal-acne-prone skin.
Most people feel softer, more hydrated skin immediately. Reduced tightness and flaking typically appear within a week, with a more even, balanced look over 2β4 weeks of consistent use.
Apply it after your water-based serums and before or instead of your moisturizer, as one of the last steps at night. In the morning, always follow with sunscreen as your final step. It can also be used solo or as a pre-cleanse makeup remover.
It has a low comedogenic rating of about 2 out of 5 and is widely described as non-comedogenic. Because it's so close to skin's own sebum, most users β including acne-prone skin β find it doesn't clog pores when used in small amounts.
Around 24 months after opening. Jojoba's wax-ester chemistry makes it one of the most stable carrier oils, so it resists rancidity far longer than most plant oils when stored cool and out of direct sunlight.
Verdict: Kate Blanc's USDA Organic Jojoba Oil is a hard-working, no-nonsense staple β a single, pure, cold-pressed ingredient that moisturizes face, hair, cuticles and nails while staying lightweight and non-greasy. Its sebum-like structure suits virtually every skin type, including oily and acne-prone, and the low comedogenic rating plus fragrance-free formula make it beginner-friendly. The only real caveats are that it isn't guaranteed fungal-acne safe and offers no active ingredients. For clean, versatile, excellent-value hydration, it earns a strong recommendation.

Ingredient Safety Breakdown refers to the percentage % of ingredients in different risk categories as classified by EWG (Environment Working Group) if they are available. There are almost endless cosmetic ingredients and they are one of the few organisations globally that have assigned ratings to a lot of the more commonly used ingredients which is why we reference them.
EWG is seen by many to be more on the alarmist side in their assignment of health ratings resulting in rating ingredients as riskier than they actually are. We recommend using this a reference point rather than a strict guide of ingredient safety and to always do further research if into ingredients that you may find suspect.
