Safety & compatibility
SAFENo retinoids, salicylic acid, hydroquinone, or chemical sunscreen actives. The formula relies on certified organic botanicals, aloe, and glycerin. The natural fragrance and camphor content are at low concentrations. Consult your healthcare provider as a precaution, but this is generally considered safe during pregnancy.
No ferments, fatty acid esters, polysorbates, or oils that feed Malassezia yeast. The formula is water-based with glycerin humectants and plant extracts — suitable for fungal acne-prone skin.
No known pore-clogging oils. The lightweight, water-based mist formula with cellulose gum and plant extracts poses minimal risk of clogging pores.
Certified cruelty-free. Contains no animal by-products. Eminence Organics does not conduct or commission animal testing.
As a soothing hydrating toner with no active acids, it layers well after AHA/BHA treatments and works alongside retinol routines as a calming prep step.
Contains natural fragrance blend and small amounts of camphor. Those with very reactive, rosacea-prone, or fragrance-sensitive skin should patch test first. A temporary tingling sensation may occur on application — this is noted by the brand as normal.
No drying alcohols (no ethanol, denatured alcohol). Uses skin-friendly propanediol (corn-derived) and caprylyl glycol as the only alcohol-related ingredients — both are non-drying and skin-compatible.
Officially certified gluten-free and nut-free, making it suitable for those with relevant dietary sensitivities that may affect topical products.

Where it fits in your routine
ROUTINEApply after cleansing as a toner step (AM & PM). Can also be spritzed mid-day for a hydration refresh, over makeup, or immediately after applying Eminence Sun Defense Minerals to set. Avoid the eye area.
How to use
HOW TO USECleanse First
Start with a clean face. Use your preferred cleanser and rinse thoroughly. Pat skin dry or leave slightly damp to boost the mist's hydrating effect.
Spray or Pad Apply
Hold the bottle 6–8 inches from your face and spray 1–2 times directly onto the face and neck, avoiding the eye area. Alternatively, spray onto a cotton pad and sweep across the face as a traditional toner.
Leave On — Do Not Rinse
Do not rinse off. Allow the mist to absorb into the skin naturally. A light tingling sensation may occur — this is normal and indicates the active botanical ingredients are working.
Continue Your Routine
Follow with your serum, eye cream, and moisturizer. The mist preps the skin for optimal absorption of subsequent products.
Refresh Anytime During the Day
Re-apply over makeup or bare skin throughout the day for an instant hydration and radiance boost. Also perfect for travel, flights, and post-workout skin refreshing.
Use as Sun Defense Minerals Setting Mist (Optional)
If using Eminence Sun Defense Minerals SPF30, apply the mineral powder to the skin first, then immediately spray the Stone Crop Mist overtop to set and hydrate simultaneously.

SKIN TYPESAloe, glycerin, sorbitol, and propanediol deliver multi-layer hydration. Ideal as a first hydration step to quench dry skin before moisturizer application.
Lightweight, water-based, and non-comedogenic. Provides hydration without added oils. Niacinamide helps reduce the appearance of pores. Note: a small number of oily skin users report slight stickiness.
Balances moisture across different face zones without overloading oily areas. Multiple reviewers with combination skin in their 50s+ note excellent results for long-term daily use.
Calendula, aloe, and lavender provide soothing benefits. Most sensitive skin users tolerate it well. However, natural fragrance and camphor content means patch testing is recommended for very reactive skin.
Alpha lipoic acid, CoQ10, superfruit antioxidants, and niacinamide work together to target fine lines, loss of radiance, and uneven tone — making this a standout toner for mature skin routines.

Budget-friendly alternatives (dupes)
DUPESA popular aloe-based facial mist with botanical extracts including herbs and rosewater. Similarly lightweight and hydrating with a floral scent. Lacks the antioxidant depth of Biocomplex2™ and the stone crop brightening actives, but an excellent entry-level organic mist at a fraction of the price.
A two-ingredient approach — rosewater and glycerin — that matches the hydrating and mild soothing functions of the Stone Crop Mist. Lacks the botanical complexity, niacinamide, and antioxidant blend, but is a pure, simple, and affordable hydrating mist option for sensitive skin types.
A Japanese-beauty approach to skin preparation using Hadasei-3™ (green tea, rice, soy — mirroring three key Stone Crop Mist botanicals) plus hyaluronic acid. More of a watery essence than a mist, but delivers similar skin-prep hydration and botanical actives. Premium but comparable in cost.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Avoid storing in the shower or near windows. Refrigerating is optional but can enhance the refreshing sensation on application.
125 ml / 4.2 oz plastic spray bottle with a fine-mist nozzle. The vertical spray direction is designed to mist the face without reaching hair. Recyclable packaging.
The 4.2 oz bottle exceeds the 3.4 oz (100 ml) TSA carry-on limit. For travel, decant into a travel-size spray bottle (under 100 ml) or purchase the smaller travel size if available from Eminence. The formula is stable during air travel.
Frequently asked questions
FAQYes, the Stone Crop Hydrating Mist is generally considered safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It contains no retinoids, salicylic acid, hydroquinone, or chemical sunscreen actives — the main ingredients to avoid during pregnancy. The formula is built on certified organic aloe vera, glycerin, botanical extracts, and niacinamide. The product does contain natural fragrance and a small amount of camphor, so if you have concerns, consult your OB/GYN or dermatologist before use. Always patch test first.
Yes, this mist is considered fungal acne (malassezia folliculitis) safe. It does not contain fermented ingredients, fatty acid esters, polysorbates, or individual plant oils that are known to feed Malassezia yeast. The formula is water-based with humectants (glycerin, sorbitol) and botanical extracts. Heptyl Glucoside is a surfactant used in trace amounts for cleansing action and is not a known Malassezia trigger. Those managing fungal acne can incorporate this toner with confidence.
Yes, this mist is highly compatible with active ingredients. As a soothing, non-exfoliating hydrating toner, it works well layered before or after retinol, Vitamin C serums, and AHA/BHA products. Many users apply it immediately after a chemical exfoliant or retinol to help calm any post-treatment sensitivity. The aloe, calendula, and lavender in the formula provide a soothing buffer. Use it as your first hydration step after cleansing, then follow with your active serums.
The Stone Crop Hydrating Mist is formulated for all skin types, but it particularly excels for dry, dehydrated, combination, and mature skin. It's also an excellent choice for uneven skin tone and those dealing with post-sun irritation. People with oily skin can use it, though a small number report a slightly tacky feeling — typically resolved by using less product. Very reactive or rosacea-prone skin types should patch test first due to the natural fragrance and camphor content.
Hydration and skin refreshment are immediate — you'll feel it from your very first use. Calming of redness and irritation is typically noticed within the first week of daily use. More visible improvements in skin radiance, tone evenness, and reduction in mild pigmentation become apparent after 4–8 weeks of consistent AM and PM use. Long-term antioxidant protection and anti-aging benefits from the Biocomplex2™ complex accumulate over months of regular use.
Apply it as Step 2 in your skincare routine — immediately after cleansing and before serums and moisturizer. In the morning: cleanser → Stone Crop Mist → serum → moisturizer → sunscreen. In the evening: cleanser → Stone Crop Mist → treatment serum → moisturizer. You can also re-apply it throughout the day over bare skin or makeup for a mid-day hydration boost, or use it immediately after applying Eminence Sun Defense Minerals to set mineral SPF.
No, the Stone Crop Hydrating Mist has a comedogenic rating of 1/5, meaning it is considered non-comedogenic and very unlikely to clog pores. The formula is water-based with no plant oils that are known pore-cloggers. Glycerin, aloe vera, sorbitol, and propanediol are all well-established non-comedogenic hydrators. The lightweight mist format also minimizes the risk of product buildup that could contribute to breakouts.
The recommended Period After Opening (PAO) is 12 months. A 4.2 oz (125 ml) bottle with twice-daily use (AM and PM, 1–2 sprays each) typically lasts 2–4 months for most users — well within the 12-month PAO. The preservative system (caprylyl glycol, ethylhexylglycerin, sodium hydroxide) keeps the formula stable. Store in a cool, dry location away from heat and sunlight to maintain optimal potency of the antioxidant actives (ALA, green tea, CoQ10).
Verdict: The Eminence Organics Stone Crop Hydrating Mist by Eminence Organics earns its place as one of the best certified organic toner-mists on the market. Its strength lies in an exceptional botanical depth — 13 certified organic actives in the Phytonutrient Blend™, paired with niacinamide, alpha lipoic acid, CoQ10, and a superfruit antioxidant complex — that sets it apart from simpler hydrating mists. It instantly refreshes and hydrates while delivering long-term benefits for tone evenness and radiance. The dual-purpose functionality as both a toner and a setting mist for mineral SPF adds real-world value. The only notable caveats are the natural fragrance (not for fragrance-free seekers) and a price point that reflects its premium organic positioning. For those committed to clean beauty who want a multi-tasking organic toner with genuine actives, this is a worthy everyday essential.
Product Overview
Quick product notes are a great way to check if a product is free from commonly avoided ingredients by skincare enthusiasts. These preferences come about for different reasons depending on the ingredient such as personal experiences, sensitivities, health preferences & etc.
Just because a product is not free from a common preference does not mean it's a bad product! You can make a personal decision whether or not you want to use a product that contains these ingredients or not - click the labels of the preference to read more about them.
Quick Product Notes
Ever used a product that promised a certain effect but provided no results? It might not have contained any notable ingredients that could have been responsible for that promised effect. It doesn't matter what the marketing or packaging «promises» it can do, if it doesn't contain anything that can help - then the likelihood of it helping is low.
We help you identify key notable ingredients that have been shown to help with effects such as acne-fighting, brightening, UV-protection, wound healing & anti-aging to help you achieve your skincare goals smarter. Please note that different notable ingredients have varying levels of research behind them, some are extremely well proven yet some have mixed research in their efficacy.
Just because a product doesn't contain any notable ingredients doesn't mean it's bad. And a product with notable ingredients (or even many) doesn't necessarily guarantee the efficacy of the product performing these effects either. There are other factors such as ingredient quality, concentration and formulation that will ultimately determine this.
Be smart and use this as just a starting point for you to make more informed and smarter choices and compare it with reviews to see if the product is right for you

Ingredient Safety Breakdown refers to the percentage % of ingredients in different risk categories as classified by EWG (Environment Working Group) if they are available. There are almost endless cosmetic ingredients and they are one of the few organisations globally that have assigned ratings to a lot of the more commonly used ingredients which is why we reference them.
EWG is seen by many to be more on the alarmist side in their assignment of health ratings resulting in rating ingredients as riskier than they actually are. We recommend using this a reference point rather than a strict guide of ingredient safety and to always do further research if into ingredients that you may find suspect.
