"downside" to this cleanser it has no other special benefit to it, other than just to clean your face. but to me its actually a plus, less ingredients less likely my skin will get irritated. Because I often find my skin reacts badly to those products with so much claim and fancy ingredients that I can't even pronounce. So to me personally, the Simple skincare line is a blessing!
Note : If you are a makeup user, double cleansing is a MUST. this cleanser is so gentle it can not take your make-up off. Or if you live in a polluted area / wear a lot of SPF , you need to double cleanse!
i like this ok as a sometimes cleanser in morning. The gel texture slides over skin, most ppl would love that, but its just not for me i like a creamy lather better.
Skin feels soft & plump after cleansing, but a little dry after i apply skincare . i end up needing more layers of moisturizer.
Doesn't really matter bc i think its discontinued
I wanted to like this product because micellar water is all the rage nowadays. However it's not suitable for my dry skin. I used it to cleanse my face once a day and my dry skin feel okay at first, it feels refreshing, light and clean. But after a while it feels tight. And at the same time, I started to have sensitivity and stinging on the skin on my upper lip. Not exactly sure whether it's due to this product or due to facemask-wearing that causes constant sweating on my upper lip during COVID-19's movement control order. I stopped and switched to a milder milk cleanser.
I love this face wash. It says it's for dehydrated/dry skin but it works great for my combo/oily skin. (Maybe my skin is dehydrated? Or maybe this just works well for all skin types.) It leaves my skin feeling clean but hydrated. I first remove sunscreen with the Simple Water Boost Micellar Water and then wash my face with this face wash. You only really need a small amount. Like the other reviewer, I let my face air dry after using this and then move onto the other steps in my routine.
By the way, the ingredients list is wrong. Perhaps it's an older version and it's since been reformulated? I just bought this through Amazon and it is fungal acne safe. The list on my product is: Should be:
Water, cocamidopropyl Betaine, propylene glycol, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, sodium chloride, panthenol, citric acid, phenoxyethanol, disodium EDTA, tocopheryl acetate, glycerin, hydroxypropyl cyclodextrin, iodopropynyl butylcarbamate, pantolactone, saccharide isomerate, potassium chloride, sodium citrate, lactic acid, sodium benzoate.
Leaves my skin feeling clean and not tight/stripped, doesn't 'improve' anything per se but causes no breakouts/irritation, what more can you ask for in a cleanser? I wet my hands and face, put a dime size amount on my fingers and work it in to my skin for 30 sec-1min then rinse it off and let my skin air dry and I love how plump and clean my skin feels.
