Many allergens are missing from the ingredient list here. Above is the current per the product page..
Yes, this cleanser smells great and has a nice texture. It's also a cute lime green and has sparkles! However, it doesn't actually have any active ingredients--"enzyme" suggests exfoliation to my mind--and on the website MB claims it has "mild AHAs"... I guess it's not illegal to lie if it's not directly on the product packaging or an advertisement?!
Something in the (heavy) fragrance mixture broke me out immediately after only one use. I remember loving this cleanser some years ago and when it was on sale recently, I sprung, but my skin's reaction was so immediate I had to return it. And it had to be this, cuz I know better by now with my sensitive skin than to change more than one product at one time. The breakouts were whiteheads close to the surface and went away pretty quickly after ceasing use so, it could only be this--yikes. I know MB has also gotten in trouble for mislabeling their products and changing around formulations so who knows what's up there. Anyway, don't be like me, even if you have used this before, spot test and make sure it doesn't irritate your skin!
This product shines because of it's beautiful, soft, thick texture. I haven't tried any product that has the same kind of texture before. Most cleansers are usually too watery, foamy and abrasive for me personally, but this cleanser just glides on the skin effortlessly, almost with a silky feel. It doesn't really foam, which I like. After use my skin is really soft and supple. It smells good as well.
Unfortunately, it might be irritating since it is both fragranced and colored, while it also contain other potential allergens such as Papaya fruit extract. My skin is sensitive, but handles this formula fairly well. The takeaway is that it does a good job at cleansing, feels absolutely amazing, but might be irritating with long-term use.
