I have an oily sensitive skin and I live in Brazil with a very hot and humid weather so almost every sunscreen I’ve tested made me feel really greasy and oily at the end of the day, but not this one!! It has a very soft texture so you can work it onto your skin pretty easily, and once you apply it it gives you a matte finish that lasts through the WHOLE DAY. It’s also sensitive skin approved! It did not burn or patch and it didn’t clog my pores, I’ve also used under foundation and it worked fine. It has been my holy grail for the past year and I will repurchase again in the following year, 100000/10 deeply recommend.
I have dry pretty sensitive skin, this product leaves the most slight whitecast on me. I only notice the whitecast looking in a mirror in darker conditions, in normal lighting conditons you dont even notice it. I have tried over 10 different K beauty sunscreens , this one is in my top 3 . would only purchase this on sale and not full retail. lasting power seems good but not "waterproof" . Much better lasting power than water based chemical K beauty sunscreen.
This sunscreen is a good option for those with combination/ oily skin. However, it did leave my skin a tiny bit tight. This is due to the fact that my skin is very sensitive to essential oils as well as rose water. As Rosa Damascena flower oil is listed as the third ingredient, I suspect that it was the cause of my skin tightness. Also, according to the EWG Rosa Damascena flower oil is high for allergic reactions so I would keep that in mind if you are considering purchasing this product and have sensitive skin. The sunscreen also left a slight white cast on me and as I am very pale I would advise those with darker skin tones to avoid this product.
The only reason I'm getting rid of this sunscreen is because I'm moving on to tackle my fungal acne. Other than that, it was my holy grail for a number of years.
I have a sun allergy (aka Photosensitivity) so high SPF is really important. I'm also allergic to chemical sunscreen filters, so I can only use mineral sunscreen filters.
Dr. G is super high protection, has a thick finish that somehow absorbs quickly, didn't leave a huge white cast (note: I'm olive skinned, so deeper skin tones might not have the same results), and sat well under makeup. I also found its pollution blocking attributes to be true – I ran out of it for a few weeks and switched to my backup sunscreen, which resulted in noticably more clogged skin.
The only complaint I have about this sunscreen is that it occasionally left my skin feeling a bit dry and tight. This was easy enough to remedy with a layer of good cream moisturizer over the sunscreen, so it didn't bother me, and was only really an issue in the dead of winter.
All in all, this sunscreen is going to be a tough act to follow :(
I have got this sunscreen (my first korean sunscreen) when I was taking isotretinoine (Roaccutane) to get rid of my stubborn yet not that severe acne. My skin was extremely sensitive at that moment, I had dermatitis and severe dryness - lack of sebum.
My dermatologist insisted on increased sun protection (and I was in Australia that time), so I was looking for something gentle enough for my overreactive and intolerant skin, but strong enough when it comes to sun protection, since I am very pale and my skin doesn't tan at all, just gets red in 5-10 minutes.
This sunscreen did not cause any kind of allergic reaction, redness or pimples. What I liked the most was that even if I put it on say 3 layers of skincare (e.g. essence, serum and cream) it would not look extremely shiny and greasy like most of sunscreens do. It does have some white tint in it due to zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, but when you apply this sunscreen, the skin looks semi-matte.
There is no fragrance in it, which is also good for those sensitive to it.
My trouble with the product was that even though this sunscreen is rated as SPF50+ and PA++++, which is supposed to be very high, I noticed that if I was out in the sun for long periods of time, my skin would still get red and itchy (burnt...) in the evening. In this case I would suggest applying more product on your face and neck (especially!), perhaps the amount I used was just not enough to get the full protection.
