slime on the face

Bought this one on a whim at Target. Everything sounded right on paper: a clear-ish, slightly yellow in color gel cleanser with a faint lavender scent that comes with a pump.
Unfortunately, no matter how I tried using it, my skin was left with the strangest squeaky-clean feeling. After patting my face dry, I tried touching it, but my fingers literally kept getting stuck and didn't glide over, as if there was a weird film on my skin that needed to be wiped off with toner immediately. You know that feeling of touching an oily pan that you ran under water without adding dish soap? It was that.
I tried using it on a dry face, mixing it with water - you name it. I used it multiple times in the shower, and when washing it off, noticed how something was rolling off my skin at the jawline(I suspect it's the cleanser itself). Plus, despite claiming to be a "makeup melt", it did not remove my makeup whatsoever, especially not mascara. My fingers just kept dragging on my skin, and I felt like I was damaging it.
No matter how you look at it, I couldn't use it for any step at any time of the day.
Now that I think about it, the term "jelly" is pretty accurate, as I imagine that's what throwing a jelly slime at one's face feels like.
