But why if FANOLA NO YELLOW is the best purple toning shampoo for white, silver or gray hair am I saying that it should be used once in a while? Well, I wish I could use it as often as I wanted but is very drying and leaves your hair brittle.

However, there are cases when is super useful: **
* Let's say that you **missed your appointment with your hairdresser
* or that you used hairdryer and/or flat iron too often last month.
* Plus, you were careless in many other things because we both know how difficult is to keep our tone away from unwanted yellow undertones (pollution, smoke, oils) and now your hair is brassy.

Then, this shampoo will perform almost a miracle in your hair. I have two methods:

*1. As a maintenance: *I use it as a regular shampoo one a month. In the second lather, I keep it on my head for like 5-8 minutes (depending on how porous is my hair, so you better try for 5 minutes or less or you'll risk ending with your hair purple and having to wash it several times with other shampoo until it fades, damaging your hair with so much washing).

2. BRASSINESS EMERGENCY: I have to say that I only do this with I don't have any product at hand to tone my hair properly. This procedure is overly drying so I ONLY do in cases of extreme necessity. I apply the shampoo evenly and carefully over my dry hair, without lathering it, just like a dye. Let it sit for 10-20 minutes (never more than 20, (but again, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU TO TRY FOR LESS THAN 10 minutes the first time, just to see how your hair reacts), and then emulsify with lukewarm water, lather and rinse thoroughly.

IN BOTH CASES I APPLY HAIR MASK AFTER AND LEAVE ON TREATMENTS.
