Compilation of AB Holy Grail products from redditors from /r/asianbeauty. Original thread is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/8j7z8u/lets_discuss_your_35_ab_skincare_products_that/

I've added some of the top mentioned products, ones that are on SkinCarisma and ones that I thought are worth to be added to this list. (So not all the products are here) The ones I thought worth adding, were ones that I personally could see myself using, if I missed some sorry!!

/u/webcam:

  • DHC Deep Cleansing Oil: I’ve tried so many face washes and cleansing oils, and this is the only one that actually takes off all the makeup! Every other one I’ve had to use micellar water after to make sure I got all of the foundation off, but not for this one. It’s amazing!
  • Belif Moisturizing Bomb: Moisturizes well and doesn’t break me out, which is saying A LOT because I break out very easily
  • Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask: The only thing that has been able to get rid of my chapped lips. AND it doesn’t break me out! Chapsticks (except for the Jack Black lip balm) always make me break out around my lips\

  • Kikumasamune High Moist Lotion: I love this product so much I don't think I could ever live without it. I never imagined a "toner" could do so much. It's incredibly plumping. Makes my skin so smooth & bouncy. Softens & brightens a bit too. As a bonus my skin also tolerates actives far better since I added it to my routine.
  • Rosette Ceramide Gel: My first true AB love.
  • Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence: Somewhat cheating as it really only reaches HG status for me once paired with squalane oil. The combo however makes my skin so so plush. It really soothes, smoothes, softens & makes my skin feel & look silky almost.
  • Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel UV: My favourite indoor/incidental exposure suncream. It's so cosmetically elegant! I love the formula. It doesn't feel (or smell) like a sunscreen at all. Leaves a beautiful finish on the skin. Works nicely under makeup. Contains no alcohol. Isn't drying at all. Lightly hydrating. Doesn't sting my eyes. Doesn't clog pores.
  • Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer:The best primer I have ever come across. & god I've tried so many. Beats out my formerly beloved Nars Pro Prime even. A must for greasy hooded eyelided folk who love eyeshadow.

  • Hada Labo Gokujyun Premium Lotion (Hyaluronic Acid): it's just so luscious. a day without out and I feel sad. So plumping, so moisturizing, so calming, yum.
  • Naruko Raw Jobs Tears Supercritical CO2 Pore Minimizing & Brightening Essence: this really helped with the glow. beautiful, glow-y, clear skin.
  • Scinic Honey AIO Ampoule: it smells good, it sinks in delightfully (yes it's sticky I don't even care), but it is SO hydrating, also a big contributor to the glow

  • Melano CC The first two weeks of using it reduced my PIH quite significantly and gave me this wonderful glow and made me really happy. I was using it day and night until I read that using Vit C above once a day may be a waste as your skin is fully saturated and can’t absorb more. So I’ve cut down to using it only in the mornings. I think maybe it’s pretty much done the best it can so I feel like the effects have plateaued. But it could also be because I don’t have much PIH left to fade. I’m pretty sure the Vit C is still doing smth, even as a preventative measure, so I don’t think I have much reason to stop using it. It’s been pretty superior in terms of Vit C products IME. It gave me results, did not irritate my skin like some LAA serums, the packaging makes it terribly stable, and it’s so convenient to use and cost-effective. I doubt I have any reason to change it unless another really good Vit C product comes along.
  • Mebika Moist Lotion This. Is. Amazing. I have four hydrating toners in my arsenal right now, the Hada Labo Gokujyun, Kiku High Moist, Hatomugi and this one. This is easily my favourite of all four, followed by the Hada Labo. Before getting this I use a layer of the Hada Labo then a layer of Kiku. The Kiku is great, good ingredients list with ceramides etc. But tbh the stickiness and mild fermented smell always bothered me. I picked up the Mebika after reading Vanityrex’s review and doing some hunting, and I feel like I don’t have reason to return to the Kiku High Moist after using this? The scent of this is really light, and most importantly it’s not sticky at all. I live somewhere really humid and can be really warm and I hate body lotions for that reason. I tried it once on my body and I didn’t feel like there was a layer of residue or stickiness, my skin just felt hydrated and comfortable.
  • On my face, again it just hydrated nicely without making my skin feel excessively tacky. Granted I starting using this the same time I used the Sulwhasoo Snowise serum, so I had some slight brightening and glow to my face that I’m not sure which product is responsible for. But I skipped the serum today and my skin still feels incredibly smooth, hydrated and supple. I’m probably relegating the Kiku to a hair or night body lotion or something, plus Mebika has more types of ceramides than the Kiku, which is pretty important for actives face.
  • Rosette Gommage Peeling Gel I’ve been mentioning this a lot everywhere. This made such an incredible difference in the texture and feel of my skin. I use actives very regularly (tret and AHA between 4 to 6 nights a week) and I feel like my face is perpetually covered in this thin layer of dead skin. On the days I use this, my foundation looks AMAZING. My skin is basically so ridiculously smooth and glowy I have trouble not touching it the entire day. I don’t use this everyday, just once or twice a week cause I’m afraid of irritating my skin, tho it’s really gentle and on top of that I got the moist version. I think gommage gels will always be a staple in my routine, and again this one works so well and is so cost-effective, I have no reason to change it esp when all the peeling gels in the market seem to be so expensive for no reason.
  • Sulwhasoo Overnight Vitalising Mask This mask is like the superhero they bust out at the end of the movies when all the other sidekicks have failed. Like the star employee, or the smartest kid in class, or the golden child who can do no wrong. I didn’t expect it to be such a thick creamy texture but literally anytime I decide I need to look good the next day I exfoliate with the peeling gel, slap this on and bam, the next day my skin looks the fabbest it’ll ever be, and healthy and energised.
  • Laneige Water Sleeping Pack This is essentially my very first AB product and I’ve been using it for years. I remember all the craze when it was first launched and I was legit amazed when I used it for the first time cause there was literally nothing like it in terms of texture or hydration power. I stay away from thick cream moisturisers cause I’m terrified of breaking out. The sleeping pack is perfect for my skin and weather and works as a light effective occlusive. I slap this on as the very last step in my routine before sunscreen both day and night, and I notice a difference if I skip it. My skin doesn’t stay as supple and hydrated throughout the day. I’m not sure if there are other dupes in the market, I’ve tried the Dr G Aquasis Sleeping Mask and it was alright but somehow way more expensive than Laneige. I’m running out pretty soon so I’m deciding between sticking with this one or trying out the lavender or firming sleeping mask, tho I’m not sure the firming mask will have the same hydrating power.

/u/SnailsHateMe:

  • CUREL MAKEUP REMOVING GEL CLEANSER: This is such a holy grail and no one talks about honestly IT JUST WORKS!My skin is so sensitive and every single cleanser I've tried as broken me out or dried it out. Its gentle, fungal acne safe, and the perfect combo of feeling like an oil cleanser, and gel cleanser. I've tried it as both a first cleanser, and second cleanse it works both ways and its never let me down. (Etude House Soon Jung Foam was really good to until it dried out my skin, but I think its because of my water.)
  • ISNTREE HYALURONIC ACID TONER: After cheating on it with the Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Toner, and The Hada Labo Toners I want it back. In my humble opinion it beats both of them its plumping like the Hada Labo and way more soothing then the Klairs. When I was going through a terrible fungal acne rash I put this on and it made it go away in less than a week.
  • SKIN AQUA UV SUPER MOIST GEL: I just love this suncreen, and before my skin barrier went to shit it could use it. It was big, cheap, and fragrance free. I really want to try the mild UV Gel since its alcohol free and made for really sensitive skin. I'm also pretty sure its fungal acne safe.
