When I first applied this eye cream I wondered if there was shimmer in it because it immediately brightened my under eyes. But upon closer inspection I did not see any shimmer or glitter, just a brightness that made me look very awake and healthy. Tarte does a fantastic job of producing a rich, moisturizing eye cream that doesn’t feel greasy on the skin. It feels nourishing and for someone with mature dry skin, I appreciate the mild plumping effect it gives me. It’s hard to find an under eye cream that isn’t hell bent on de-puffing when you suffer from hollows under the eyes from depleted collagen production as you get older. This helps to keep other products from sinking into fine lines as well.
I'll give it three stars because this is a perfectly acceptable product if you just need something to use around the eye area for hydration. However. the "brightening" it claims to do is definitely not a thing. I had switched to this from my Vichy Idealia Eye, which gives amazing results, and when I was using this my eye bags looked awful and my eye area looked dull again. Sure it was soft, but why use this when Idealia also makes your eyes soft and also firms, brightens and refreshes the eye area? So if you're only searching for hyrdation, this could be suitable. But IMO there are better options out there.
