Amazing Product

So first off, this moisturizer is a bit on the pricey side, so I figured I'd be as detailed as possible so people have an idea of what they might be buying. It is normally £83.99 ($99.99), but I feel like most of the time you can get it 40% off, it then costs £46.69 ($59.88).

How I have tested Duo-Multiplex Moisturizer: Right now I've used the Moisturizer morning and evening, every day for roughly 6-7 weeks. I have used this together with a few different cleansers, and tries to minimize the use of face masks and exfoliators, as well as completely dropped serums and toners to see how well the moisturizer performs by itself.

What my skin is like: I have sensitive combination skin. It is mostly normal in the U-zone, but tends to get rather oily in the T-zone. On the sides of my nose i often get dry-patches, where skin gets all flaky and weird, while still being oily. I suspect the natural skin renewal cycle isn't working quite right, especially in this area. I tend to have less than a handful pimples spread evenly across my T-zone. What bothers me most about my skin is that I have quite enlarged pores in the cheek area next to my nose, and between my eyebrows. I also have quite a bit of blackheads in the same area as well as on my nose, chin and forehead. I also get one or two cysts in the area beneath my cheekbones every now and then, and have quite a few closed comedones (I suspect I have Comedonal Acne).

What Duo-Multiplex Moisturizer does for my skin: Wonderfully. Hehe. When I apply it I can feel how moisturizing it is, yet it absorbs well into the skin, it does not irritate my sensitive skin and doesn't leave a cast on my skin, as other moisturizers sometimes do. My skin has a very hard time completely absorbing products like the "Tea Tree Skin Mattifying Lotion" from the Body Shop and the "The Fab Pore Daily Micro Smoothing Moisture Lotion" from Soap & Glory for example. These do leave a layer on my skin that clumps together and looks like I'm shedding skin if I apply foundation on top. Not attractive. (Disclaimer: It doesn't necessarily mean those are bad products, just that my skin doesn't absorb them well). I don't really use primers when I wear makeup, and find that foundations applies beautifully on top of the Duo-Multiplex Moisturizer. When I use this moisturizer I also find that I don't get nearly as oily in my T-zone as I normally do. There has been a significant reduction in the frequency of the appearance of pimples and cysts on my face, which I very much appreciate.

What Duo-Multiplex Moisturizer doesn't do for my skin: I mentioned above that I get less oily when using this moisturizer, however it doesn't completely matte down the skin, which I personally think is a good thing, because most mattifying creams make my skin look kind of lifeless. In my experience they only makes me look matte for a few hours at best anyways, and then my skin will try to compensate by producing even more oils than it normally does. It does not do much for the oily-but-flaky patches on the sides of my nose, but that is something my exfoliator takes care of anyways. I have not noticed a reduction in the size of my pores, nor the amount of blackheads I have. I noticed in the ingredient list that the moisturizer contains cocoa seed butter, which supposedly is not very good for oily skin, and has the comedogenic rating 4, which isn't great either. So perhaps this ingredient hinders my blackheads from clearing up? It also has a couple of other ingredients with comedogenic rating 2 and 3, but all of these are quite far down on the ingredient list, and thus there isn't very much of these in there. I know that in a cosmetic product there are many ingredients with different functions, and some ingredients need a certain other ingredient to work well, and that the amount of each ingredient has significance for how it performs and so on, so I can't say what would happen if any of these comedogenic substances were removed, or if they are even in large enough quantities to act comedogenic on the skin at all. My enlarged pores and blackheads have not, however, gotten worse either, which is why I wouldn't say this makes my impression of the moisturizer any worse. Lastly I have not noticed a reduction of closed comedones on my cheeks, but I suspect I need to see a specialist about these.

Summary: All in all, on my skin the moisturizer does reduce pimples and the production of sebum. It does not reduce pores or blackheads on my skin. It does not irritate, and absorbs well into the skin. It works well on the oily parts of my skin as well as on the normal parts of my skin, so I feel like I can confidently recommend this to people with oily, combination and normal skin. Judging by the ingredients, and my gut-feeling, I suspect it will work wonders on dry skin as well. I really do love this moisturizer, and will definitely repurchase it.
