Lightest shade is too dark and orange

For reference I use NARS foundation in 'gobi' and concealer in 'vanilla', so I'm pale with a yellow undertone but not porcelain pale. I initially bought this because of it's high proportion of mineral ingredients and really wanted to like it.
It has a similar texture to an abrasive whitening toothpaste, but at least it's not super greasy.
I would've been ok with this texture if it weren't for the tint. I mean I get it that without any pigment it probably would've looked like I actually applied toothpaste on my face, but I'm off by at least two foundation shades. After I applied the recommended 1/4 tsp on my face I looked like a certain orange president. Having a thin layer of foundation on top did mask the tint, however, overall it looked too heavy and just not good.
