Not for dehydrated skin

I have dehydrated/combination skin that is very oily and bought this as a second step to my p.m. double cleansing after The Ordinary squalane cleanser. The CeraVe foaming cleansing gel turned out to be too drying for my combination/dehydrated skin, even if I use a good moisturizer afterwards. (Plus I see that the ingredient list contains fragrance but the smell is too "alcohol-y" for me- an unscented product would have been better imo.
I really wanted to like this cleanser but it made my skin feel like crinkled paper right after washing and even oilier than before throughout the day. I can't really say if it has improved or made my acne worse since I didn't see major changes over a 3-month use, so it is not worth the drying effect at all. I guess even if you don't have dehydrated or sensitive skin but "normal to oily" as stated, you should still be careful that the CeraVe foaming cleansing gel is not too drying otherwise it will worsen the oil production issue and be counterproductive.

Brilliant Cleanser for Fungal Acne (Malassezia Folliculitis)

I've been looking for a cleanser that was suitable for my combination skin and fungal acne prone skin, I'm so glad I came across this cleanser! It is a plus that this cleanser contains Niacinamide and Citric Acid, despite the fact that I would be rinsing it off my face after 30 seconds, lol. My skin tone has evened out and overall the appearance of my skin has brightened. Also, because I am prone to fungal acne, using an oil cleanser to remove my makeup as a first step isn't really an option for me, so I usually double cleanse with this and it's brilliant at taking off all my makeup, of course keeping in mind to hydrate the skin afterwards so you're not leaving your skin withered and dry. I wouldn't recommend this cleanser if you are more on the drier end of the spectrum, I suggest the cerave hydrating cleanser as an alternative.

It deserves a try

It's a favorite of mine ...I have been looking for a cleanser  that contains citric acid and doesn't leave a dry feel on my skin and I came across this one. It protects the skin barriere  and bonus, it has a combo of Niacinamides and Ceramides  ..overall Cerave's products have been gaining my interest lately.. I've only had good experiences with all products I've tried up to this moment it might not work for others but for me(combo skin) it's doing the right job.
