My favourite face wash ever. I do have oily skin and some will think I would like something that stripping everything from my face. But I don't. This is the perfect cleanser even if you have oily, sensitive and others concern. This is simply the best cleanser. Does not break me out or do anything bad on my skin. It does hydrate my skin after washing my face but still I feel clean. One downside from me is: it is quite pricey and the amount of the product is too little. I literally finish it in just 2 months (twice daily) and I broke my bank.
I've been using this for several years now and it's my HG foaming cleanser. It leaves my skin feeling clean, but never dry or stripped.
Compared to the other two foaming cleansers I own/use:
COSRX Low-pH Good Morning Cleanser: the COSRX isn't drying exactly, but it does feel like a stronger cleanser. I like the COSRX if I've been outside or working out, but for day to day cleansing, I prefer the Hada Labo. Plus, the HL has no discernible scent to me, but the COSRX smells like tea tree oil.
Su:m37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick: as far as how my skin feels after cleansing, it's comparable. The experience of using it is totally different. It's also a much more luxurious and decadent experience. The MRCS has real rose petals in it and definitely smells like it. If you're sensitive to scents, again, I'd recommend the Hada Labo.
My skintype: fairly balanced but prone to dehydration due to tretinoin use
I was excited to try out this cleanser due to the fantastic reviews most bloggers gave regarding its gentleness and being pH balanced, as I'm used to use a higher pH cleanser (pH 8).
However, my skin felt very tight and dry even after just cleansing with it once. It was reddish around the cheeks area and I can see flakes especially around nose and cheeks. I was afraid the tightness caused by it will exarcebate wrinkles and enlarged pores. I'm not 100% sure but I think it is also giving a bunch of closed comedones around my cheek area as it emerged a few days after using. I found that trying out this product is rather traumatic for me as I'm still reeling in from the after effects even after weeks have gone by. The tight feeling has now subsided but the closed comedones still remain.
I decided to abandon it after just 3 times of using. I'm now using it as a body wash instead.
It was very disappointing because this cleanser is very popular and recommended by a lot of people. But the experience with this product had reminded me of "Your Mileage May Vary" when it comes to skincare. What is popular may not always be suited for your skin.
