I found this cleanser to be too harsh for my skin, even though I have very resilient, oily skin. Benzoyl peroxide is most effective as a leave-on treatment, so I'm surprised to see it in the Proactiv cleanser. I also felt a cooling sensation, which I attribute to menthol or some other mint-derivative under the name of "fragrance." As much as I love the cooling/tingly sensation, all menthol products seem to irritate my skin and cause more breakouts, and I've read that I'm not alone in this experience, so again, I'm surprised to see they included it in a product aimed at acne-sufferers. The microbeads are at least not too harsh for a physical exfoliant targeted at acne-prone skin. Overall, I expect more for the price and from a brand aimed at treating, not exacerbating, acne.
