A silky, slightly opaque gel, Dermalogica Barrier Repair was my saving grace when my skin was so inflamed and sensitive I could barely touch it.
This product is great for red and inflamed skin, it quickly tones down redness and soothes the skin. This silky gel leaves a thin layer to protect your already aggravated vulnerable skin. It feels similar to that of a primer and makeup applies well over it. For very dry skin, this product does not provide nearly the amount of moisture your skin craves. Unfortunately I found that quite a bit of product was needed and the tube did not last more than a month when used twice everyday.
Although I love the product, I have deducted a star as it is more of a treatment for your skin when your natural lipid barrier is damaged. The product does not maintain your natural barrier when used on a healthy skin and is not moisturizing or beneficial for any other skincare concerns other than sensitivity.
