Longtime HG

I started using this in my mid-20s, when my major skin concerns were cystic and hormonal acne, a severely disrupted skin barrier (extreme oiliness and extreme flakiness), and generally having no idea what to do with my skin. It's never left my shelf since. Now, in my early 30s with a totally different set of skin concerns (anti-aging, fungal acne/residual closed pores, skin texture) it still has a place in my shelf. I suspect some version of this product will be with me until I'm old and gray.

The best way to describe this product is as a moisture booster. It draws water to the skin. It has a slightly-more-viscous than water texture, and it evaporates quickly. It has the slightest tacky texture when dry.

As such, it's designed to be layered under more occlusive/oily products. I find that when I use this product, any moisturizer I use with it instantly seems to do its job better. I notice that my skin is tighter and dryer when I run out of this guy, so now I just try and never run out.

Side note: I moved from a very humid seaside climate to a dry and windy continental climate, and I would say this product.. struggled more? In humid climates, probably because it pulled more moisture from the air.

Wasn't worth the hype for me

I wanted to switch up my hydrating toner and it seemed like everyone loved this one! I decided to go with the light version because I didn't want anything too heavy. This texture was thicker than the Klairs Supple Prep but the weather was getting colder so I didn't mind. It sank in pretty quickly, but I did not like this packaging. Way too much spilled out and I found it hard to get a controlled amount on my hands and onto my face. And I don't think it did a better job than the Klairs so I didn't repurchase.
