Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil
|
Promotes Wound Healing
|
Started using 100 % cold-pressed rosehip seed oil about one and half year ago, and I genuinely feel like it has transformed my skin. I have had significantly less breakouts since I started using this dry oil as part of my night-time skin care routine. I use this daily as the last step to seal in moisture. Compared to before, when I had regular issues with breakouts often forming in clusters, I now only notice one or two smaller pimples every three weeks. This might not only be because of the oil alone, of course, but it has certainly made a difference. My post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation has been slightly reduced during this period, but is still visible.
After application my skin is left soft, bouncy and radiant with a beautiful glow. It feels soothing on irritated skin and redness usually goes down a bit if I apply this after using actives or irritating ingredients.
I'm not a huge fan of oils generally; don't really like the feeling of them on the skin and usually it does little more than just making me feel greasy... but I do love this rose hip seed oil! It does leave that feeling of sitting on your skin but it's not really bothersome and it doesn't make me break out. I use 2 to 3 drops every night of it, at the last step of my routine but before my moisturizer. I find it helps healing spots and calming my skin. It's also just nice to use when your skin is dry because of it not all instantly absorbing.
From what I've read from other reviews of this product, it's really a hit or miss: some people get break outs from this and say it doesn't do much for them, whereas others love every aspect of it. Either way, for me it's a hit.
It's ok. A dry feeling oil. I have used this for 5 months 5-6 times a week in the evening. Initially bought for fading some old scars. Haven't seen improvement (using SPF daily too). Makes skin look smoother in the morning. Would not repurchase. Did not cause any clogged pores etc.
